Brian G. Gutierrez has spent nearly three-decades working with leaders and various industry experts to help organizations achieve their maximum potential with the majority of his work spent at the C-suite leadership level. In addition, he spent several years with Deloitte in the manufacturing, real estate, and not-for-profit sectors.
His leadership experience spans all facets of leadership development, strategic planning, governance and operations. His mantra is lead from behind. As a C-Suite leader Brian maintains that it is better to let senior leaders throughout the organization maintain the spotlight as one works to support those leaders in carrying out the collective vision. His most important work is the work that helps prepare an organization’s leadership team for success through honest and candid organizational assessment and strategic planning coupled with stewardship and accountability practices. This is the work that is seldom seen in public. A Soul Centered Leader can find amazing levels of satisfaction leading from behind and when called upon leading the organization visibly in front.
Brian’s experience also includes all facets of enterprise leadership including more nuanced areas such as research, education and training, and corporate campus planning, design and construction. He has played supportive roles in the arts and sports entertainment by helping to create rich environments in which talented individuals can work, practice and perform to reach their highest potential.
Brian believes that the complexities of today’s businesses span a unique spectrum of entrepreneurship across many industries including medical, research, sciences, the arts, sports entertainment, retail, hospitality, construction and planning and a multitude of direct and indirect investments across all asset classes. The expertise and diverse backgrounds of leadership talent in each of these complex areas necessitates a C-suite leadership style that is balanced, centered and grounded to instill organizational confidence and connection. In addition, he believes that leaders are facing a generational sea change as Baby Boomers retire, Millennials rise in positions of leadership and Gen Z age employees increase in population within the workforce. All three of these dynamics are converging and are creating unique challenges for current business leaders. The Eight Principles of Soul Centered Leadership offer opportunities for increased understanding and connection between these generational divides.
Brian is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, with a Bachelor of Business Administration, and he holds a Master of Public Administration from The University of Texas at Arlington where he also completed extensive post graduate course work across a myriad of topics including organizational theory, strategic planning, economics and political science.
